For many of us, New Year Resolutions are pretty intimidating. The reason? They sound like big changes that we want to make in a day. This builds a lot of stress. The result? Procrastination. As the days pass by, when we fail to meet these goals, self-doubt and irritation begin to crawl in.
However, isn’t this true that life is what we make it!
Instead of taking a big jump, which might look like something that is beyond our control, we should focus on small changes! Small changes that we repeatedly do to make them our habits. This will eventually change your lifestyle and make you lead a happy life!
Don’t like something? Change it!
Easier said than done! Changing things is not that simple. That’s why you should focus on small changes, tiny habits. It will be a good start for sure. Don’t you agree?
Small changes, when taken consistently can deliver a big result. Even without knowing, by taking these conscious choices, you will transform your life into your dream life. That’s why today, we will focus on small habits that can make a big difference in your life.
10 Small Habits That Will Make A Big Difference In Your Life
1. Stay Active
Instead of using that life or escalator, use the stairs. Going out for grocery shopping? Instead of driving your car, try walking. Don’t want to go for a 30 minutes intense workout? Not a problem! Try doing jumping jacks.

Talk while you walk. This will improve your physical energy, which will, in turn, feed your mental energy. Time to welcome a good mood?
2. Do Work At Your Desk
The new normal has forced us to work from home. Many people are complaining about productivity issues. Well, you will face productivity issues, if you open your laptop while slouching on your bed to complete your work.
If you need to get some work done, do it at your desk. When we are doing our work lazily from our bed, we end up thinking we are doing multitasking. The fact is we are not a great multitasker. The moment when you decide to do multitasking, you are creating speed breakers for yourself.

Also, try to keep your phone in silent, stay away from the television. Create a dedicated working space for yourself. The next time when you want to work, move your butt to the study table.
3. Clean Everything Right Away
When you wake up, immediately make your bed. Stay in a clean environment, it will make a huge difference for sure. After eating, make sure that you clean your dishes at that very moment. There won’t be any piling dishes the next time when you enter the kitchen.
Drank water? Fill your water bottle immediately.

It is easier to do things on the go, instead of keeping a dedicated time later for doing it. When you keep such tiny things at bay, thinking you will do it later, a continuous beep inside your brain will keep reminding you that you have other things to do too in the middle of an important job. So get done with all the tiny tasks right away.
4. Practice Gratitude
I can’t focus enough on the importance of gratitude. Being a firm believer in the law of attraction, gratitude plays a huge role in my life. There may be an end number of things to complain about, but also, there is an end number of things to be grateful about too!
Don’t take anything for granted. Practice gratitude. Before you hit the bed, jot down three things that you are grateful about the day. It can be something as small as a cup of coffee or a good book.

Say, “thank you, thank you, thank you!” Practising gratitude will make you realize how lucky you are! When that realization will hit, you will become a source of positive vibes.
5. Assign Your “Me Time” At The Start Of The Day
With the hustle and bustle of life, we often forget about keeping some time assigned exclusively for ourselves. Every day, find a few minutes where you spend it with yourself, doing things that you like to do.

A warm shower, exercise, writing, reading, it can be anything! These are things that give you pleasure, not only this but also give an identity. Stay in touch with it. No matter how busy your life is, find some time for yourself.
6. Go For A Walk After Dinner
You should have your dinner two hours before you sleep. Eat and sleep, you will be on your way to becoming a fatter version of yourself. If you have a nearby park, go for a stroll for twenty minutes after having dinner. You will stay in touch with nature, also you will become fitter. You will feel light!

7. Out A Water Bottle On Your Desk
Drinking 6-8 glasses of water is a healthy habit. Practising it can be tough if your water bottle is not in your arms reach. Many times, even when we are thirsty, we don’t drink water because of our laziness. Therefore, always keep a water bottle handy. Do not forget to fill it as soon as it gets empty.

8. Switch To Energy Saving Lights
Still, using the regular light? Switch it to energy-saving lights and save yourself from eco-guilt. Shouldn’t we all do something for the environment? Not only will you feel proud of it, but you will also be saving tons of money on your electricity bill too.

Here’s another way to contribute to the environment. Next time when you go shopping, carry your bag. The ban on polythene is failing miserably! But let’s not complain about it. Do what you can do and the best thing that you can do for now carries your bag!
9. Have Warm Lemon Water First Things In The Morning
Starting your day with a glass of warm lemon water will boost your metabolism. Your body will detoxify itself with just this small change. Also, when you start your day on a healthy note, it will be tough for you to feed your stomach with junk food. Our mind truly works strangely!

10. Focus On Becoming The Best Version Of Yourself
Do not compare yourself with others. Instead of pulling you up, it will push you down. Instead, focus on becoming the best version of yourself. How will you do it? What’s the parameter to judge that you have become your best version? Well, simply focus on becoming a better version of your every day. This will do!

When it comes to making these small life changes, remember that you don’t need to do everything at once. If you try doing everything at once, it will soon become one big change. We don’t need that. Just keep these points in your mind and take conscious decisions when you remember. You will accomplish it all for sure! Best of luck!
